First Round McCorkle v Giminez  -- In round 1 I was paired up (against a player rated higher than I) against a player, from Kansas City, who like myself had quit playing for many years and is now returning to the game. He has been a rated expert as late as 2009.

Second Round  McCorkle v Ali - Round 2 found me paired with a player from Louisiana, again rated 150 points above me. He did a nice job of winning 2 pawns and was able to turn a win.

Third Round Kuehnle v McCorkle -  My opponent in Round 3 was a very nice young man who was rated about 50 points below me. In a won position I transposed two moves and had to fight very hard to get a draw.

Fouth Round Zong v McCorkle - In Round 4 my opponent was 1 hour late coming to the board. With about 10 minutes left before I could claim a forfeit he showed up. I guess I had started to relax and had problems concentrating so we played an uneventful draw.

Fifth Round  McCorkle v Kennedy - Round 5 had me paired with a young man from Florida. He was able to win a pawn with a nice maneuver and thru the last 20 moves of the game played very accurately to pick up the win

Sixth Round Cummings v McCorkle - My opponent in Round 6 was a man about my age who was rated about 70 point higher than I. I misplayed the opening and he took full advantage. This was my worst game of the tournament!

Seventh Round  - Bye  - I took a bye in round 7 as I was very tired.

Eighth Round - Najabundlia v McCorkle - Round 8 was played against a gentleman from India. Again I was paired up. In a very exciting game he got into time trouble and I was able to pick up my first win!

Ninth Round - McCorkle v KennedyThe final round was played against gentleman from New Your City. In a very exciting game, I missed a winning continuation and fell to a mating attack.
