My Mom taught me to crochet while I was in nursing school. This was quite a feat since I’m a lefty and she wasn’t, and much of it was done over the phone! I started with afghans but now make “plarn” bags. Plarn is plastic yarn made from cutting apart plastic shopping bags and knotting the strips together to make yarn. They are great for groceries, etc. When clearing Mom’s house after she passed my sister came upon Mom’s nylon scrubby pattern, so I really enjoy having the pattern in her handwriting and making them for friends and family.
